In 2006 (2549), Kingkong Group was established as a small Japanese restaurant named "Nami Yakiniku" in the Town in Town area of Lat Phrao in Bangkok. The establishment was founded on the personal interest of the creator in Japanese cuisine and the sourcing of high-quality ingredients. Nami Yakiniku offered a-la-carte Japanese BBQ (yakiniku) with a diverse selection of ingredients for customers to choose from. The second branch of the restaurant was opened in 2007 (2550) in the Ekkamai area.

In response to positive customer feedback and appreciation for the Japanese-style BBQ offered at Nami Yakiniku, a new brand was established in 2008 (2551) called "Kingkong Buffet." The first branch was opened in Soi Langsuan, offering an all-you-can-eat buffet style with a wide range of high-quality ingredients, including desserts, at a fixed price. The brand quickly gained popularity and expanded continuously, with a total of 14 branches now in operation.

In an effort to cater to health-conscious customers and offer premium quality Japanese cuisine at an accessible price point, Kingkong Group expanded its offerings to include a new line of buffet, Shabu and Sushi restaurant called "Shibuya Shabu." Today, Shibuya Shabu has 4 branches located in prime areas throughout Bangkok.

The Kingkong Group has recently introduced its latest brand, Mongkok Sukiyaki, which debuted its first location in Soi Ekkamai. The restaurant offers a Hongkong’s buffet style sukiyaki with five different types of soups to choose from. Customers can enjoy a unique dining experience by selecting their own ingredients for their hotpot, similar to shopping at a large-scale supermarket. Additionally, the restaurant features a wide selection of desserts on the menu. Currently, Mongkok Sukiyaki has six branches in total.

"Kingkong Sweets" is the latest addition to the Kingkong Group portfolio, founded in response to the growing trend of Japanese desserts and the desire to expand the customer base to include younger children and teens. The brand has been designed as small-scale shops located in shopping malls or as a food truck, capable of operating in any location.

Currently, the Kingkong Group consists of four brands with a total of nearly 20 branches. These include: Kingkong Buffet, Shibuya Shabu, Mongkok Sukiyaki, and Kingkong Sweets.
